We spent a portion of two days this weekend at the Magic Kingdom. The first was to see SHAG (Josh Agle), a fantastic artist who is often commissioned to create artwork for Disney. He has a new line of 40th anniversary Walt Disney World merchandise. I'll have an article on that in a couple of days! While there, we spent an extra hour on photos of Fantasyland and the Confectionery.
We went back on Saturday for fun, a few photos from that day are at the end of this article.
Before delving into the photos, I've been reading online over the past few days that Flynn Rider is leaving the Tangled Play & Greet at the Magic Kingdom as of July 3rd (his last day July 2nd). Our videos from the Tangled Play & Greet (as well as the temporary Meet & Greet at Epcot) have over 200,000 views on them collectively – nearly 1/10th of our video view total. That is pretty impressive considering we have nearly 800 videos, and only 4 videos of Rapunzel and Flynn! Maybe half of our video comments – from over 200 total – mention (and usually gush over) Flynn Rider. He is equally as popular as Rapunzel and I find it extremely surprising that they'd remove him. Prince Naveen is also said to be leaving at that time. There are petitions popping up on the internet, but I definitely recommend writing to Disney at email@example.com if you care about this at all. I'm not a big Meet & Greet fan for myself normally, but I think that the Rapunzel/Flynn Rider Meet & Greet is one of the best that Disney's had, and I'd love to see it continue as is. I also like the Princess Tiana/Prince Naveen combination Meet & Greet.
On to the photos!
Awnings and signs have been added to the Main Street Confectionery, it really looks great (though I think it makes the Emporium look like it's overdue for some TLC). We have video as well!
Here is one photo of SHAG, he's with Streetmosphere at his Magic Kingdom signing. I took some video of him that includes the Streetmosphere actors, you can find that here.
I'll write up an article about SHAG's signing with more photos by Tuesday!
Cars backed up at the Tomorrowland Speedway:
Work in Fantasyland progresses, and we have video to share from Friday!
