10/13 Grand Floridian Update – Disney Vacation Club / DVC Villa Construction

Hi everyone!

We already posted a Fantasyland/Magic Kingdom photo update, as well as the Cubot interactive test at Disney's Hollywood Studios Tuesday – now it's on to the Grand Floridian DVC Villa construction area!

I wanted to plug the wonderful Mouseowners website – if you are a DVC member or thinking of it, it's the best place to find out information and talk with other Disney Vacation Club owners (and they talk about a lot of other things Disney even if you aren't a member of DVC!)

We brought you nearly-weekly coverage of Disney's Bay Lake Tower from before it broke ground until it opened – as well as Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge Villas once it started (at the same link above). When I started this site, I had no plans to do construction photos, but I had so many requests while I was creating my photo walks that it's now the biggest part of the website!

I expect we'll be covering the not-yet-announced Grand Floridian villa construction every week or two once it starts. The ground looks like it's mostly being prepped now, and the walls put up to get ready for it. The Spa closed for 18 months last month, though I have read that the Fitness Center is still open. The photos below start from the water, and then walking along the path – past the Spa/Fitness Center, and to the Grand Floridian Wedding pavilion. I will greatly miss that beach, I love walking past the water there – we last enjoyed it at an event during the Royal Wedding Sleepover/Tweet-Up in May!
