2/10 SeaWorld Bands, Brew & BBQ Kicks Off With Chris Young, Beer and Great Food!

Hi everyone!

SeaWorld kicked off it’s Bands, Brew & BBQ yesterday with great food, plenty of beer and an energetic performance by country performer Chris Young (opened with a strong set by Jerrod Niemann). We had a terrific time and look forward to going back, here is a look at what is in store at this annual SeaWorld event!

SeaWorld has become quite the event park over the last few years, so I definitely recommend getting an Annual Pass or Fun Card to see everything. The concerts are included with park admission, and the cost of one concert outside of the park often costs nearly as much as the Fun Card itself! (SeaWorld Fun Card does not include parking, but Annual Passes do)

There is a $39 VIP package that includes a meal and reserved seating for that day’s show.

We entered SeaWorld yesterday and found Shamu greeting everyone up front. He’s part of our video too!

Chris Young with Jarrod Niemann were playing yesterday, and Merle Haggard performed today. Keep reading to the end for the complete list of performers! I am looking forward to Hall & Oates and Sheryl Crow.

SeaWorld has it’s own barbecue, including ribs, chicken and pork. Sonny’s BBQ, Cecil’s Texas Style BBQ, and Tony Roma’s also have booths here! We’ll be trying them all through the 6 weeks of Bands, Brew & BBQ.

There are a variety of Craft Beer booths, with a 10 sample package costing $21.00 (there is a discount for passholders). Kid’s speciality drinks are also available.

We were invited as media, and each of us received a SeaWorld BBQ meal. I really enjoyed my chicken! Jeff had the combo platter, and other friends dined on ribs. The meals are reasonably priced, and passholders receive a 10% discount. Definitely bring your appetite, these are full-sized portions!

There is a large seating area with benches, and animal encounters were happening nearby. This is one of my favorite reasons to visit SeaWorld! The opossum, aligator, bald eagle and armadillo all delighted guests. We were allowed to touch each one except for the bald eagle.

I didn’t know who Chris Young was by name, but I was familiar with many of his songs. We planned to leave a little early, but the show was so much fun – we stayed for the whole two hours that Jarrod Niemann and Chris Young played.

My advice? Arrive in the early afternoon, enjoy a great meal and then stay for the show. I don’t drink beer, but many in our group tried out the craft beers and felt the $21 was a terrific value! Sunday, February 17           Styx
Saturday, February 23         Big & Rich
