Doc McStuffins Makes Walt Disney World Debut at Disney Junior Play ‘n Dine, Disney’s Hollywood Studios (Photos, Video)

Hi everyone!

Doc McStuffins made her Walt Disney World debut today, joining Jake, Handy Manny and Sofia the First at the Disney Junior Play ‘n Dine experience at Hollywood & Vine. The characters appear at breakfast and lunch, we went for an early lunch. Sofia the First is new to this location, though she made her first appearance at Disney’s Hollywood Studios last year. While Sofia and Jake greet guests in the Animation Courtyard, this is the only location where Doc McStuffins currently greets guests.

It has been maybe 7 years since I’ve been to Hollywood & Vine, which has been a Disney Junior location for breakfast and lunch for years now.

We were seated quickly, and our first character meet & greet was with Handy Manny. The characters did not rush through here, and it took an hour or more to see them all (within a half hour or so after that, we’d seen them again).

Sofia the First was up next. We saw many little girls dressed up as their favorite Disney Junior princess!

Jake was a lot of fun, showing us his pirate moves. And while most guests were adults with children, there were several tables of just adults – it’s a nice experience for anyone who enjoys Disney characters.

Doc McStuffins showed us her stethoscope, which has a bandaid with a heart on it.

Here is our video of Doc McStuffins:

One of the really fun parts of the Disney Junior Play ‘N Dine is the show that happens every 15 minutes. These performers are terrific, singing songs from the different programs.

The characters themselves are part of the show! Handy Manny tries some dance moves.

Check out the shows in this video from today:

Doc McStuffins holds hands with children during the show. All the kids really seemed to love the interaction!

Here is our video that includes all the characters!

The buffet is set up like a cafeteria, and I found the food hit-or-miss. Jeff enjoyed the lobster macaroni, and there was a create-your-own pasta that looked delicious. There are a ton of choices here!

The lobster macaroni had a lot of lobster.

There is baked chicken, salmon, beef, corn, mashed potatoes, salad, and much more to choose from.

The desserts were the main letdown as far as the food. They looked nice, but nothing was worth the calories.

For guests who visit the Disney Junior Play ‘n Dine and eat too quickly to see their favorite characters, just let someone know and they will bring the character to you! Everyone has the opportunity to meet each of the Disney Junior characters. This is not an inexpensive dining experience, our bill for 2 adults before applying a discount was $60 plus tip. Hollywood & Vine does take Tables in Wonderland and the Disney Dining Plan. I overheard the price for kids ages 3-9 as $16.99 per child. For us, it was nice to try something different. We get asked for Disney Junior coverage quite often, and Doc McStuffins has been a highly anticipated character – we met her at the Disney D23 Expo, and it’s great to see her in the park.

Before and after our meal, we took some photos around the park. I don’t see Donald and Daisy in these costumes too often!

If you are wanting information about Fastpass+, it isn’t hard to find. Cast Members are stationed all over the park to help out. This photo on Instagram of a Cast Member brought up a lot of comments about “The Matrix”! We have quite a few articles and videos about MyMagic+, check out our YouTube playlist!

Streetmosphere was out and about.

And where the Monsters University topiary (and then Christmas tree) was placed last year, Sorcerer Mickey is now back with the Fantasia broomsticks.

We will be talking about our experiences from today at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, including at the Disney Junior Play ‘n Dine, on our next Mousesteps Weekly show (episode #87!)
