“A Frozen Holiday Wish” Debuts at the Magic Kingdom! Olaf Joins Elsa, Anna and Kristoff to Light Cinderella Castle (Photos, Video)

Hi everyone!

We were there today for the first showing of “A Frozen Holiday Wish”, the new Cinderella Castle holiday lighting show. Up until now, Cinderella and the Fairy Godmother had been part of lighting castle (ever since 2007). This year, Anna and Elsa, along with Olaf and Kristoff share the honors.

The first showing of “A Frozen Holiday Wish” was at 6:15 pm, followed by a second at 7:30 pm (this may change during the season, so check the schedule ahead of time). While I don’t really think that “Frozen” fits with Cinderella Castle per se’, guests were eager to see it and both showings were packed. “A Frozen Holiday Wish” will be shown twice nightly through December 31st, 2014. Decorations are up at the Magic Kingdom now, you can see that here in our article from yesterday.

We arrived nearly an hour early to get a good spot for the first show. It wasn’t soon enough (45 minutes early). It was easier to move up for the second show with about the same amount of time to wait.

Our photos are from both shows. Olaf makes his first-ever live appearance at Walt Disney World (we have seen him in Disney on Ice Presents Frozen), and Olaf, Anna and Kristoff encourage Elsa to use her powers to freeze Cinderella Castle. Elsa says she can’t because it isn’t her home, but Anna says it will be like a “holiday wish”. With no more coaxing needed, they all go rogue and light Cinderella Castle. It is a nice show, though I think the projections run a little too long.

Here is our multi-angle video from this year’s show, along with photos beneath it.

One thing I do like better about this show from previous years is that some of it seems to be live – not all pre-recorded.

We will have tripod shots this weekend of Cinderella Castle!

If you haven’t seen “Cinderella’s Holiday Wish”, here is our video from 2013.

I could look at this all night.

There are beautiful lights on the trees in the hub as well.

Look for our report Saturday after the first Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas party!
