Muppet Mobile Lab Returns to Epcot After Almost 10 Years with Dr. Bunsen Honeydew and Beaker (Photos, Video)
Hi everyone!
More than nine years ago, I posted an update to Mousesteps that included a test of the Muppet Mobile Lab at Epcot near the Imagination pavilion. I only caught the very end of it that day, and never saw it again – until a couple of days ago. I am delighted that it is back, and that Walt Disney World is utlizing the Muppets as much as they ever have. We haven’t yet seen the Magic Kingdom shows in Liberty Square – that began during our Paris trip and we’ve not yet been in the park. In addition, PizzeRizzo is set to open soon at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in the former Pizza Planet location.
The Muppet Mobile Lab is testing at Epcot. It is not on the schedule, though we’d been told to check around 10:30 or 11:30am. That isn’t necessarily every day, and being an unscheduled test, Disney can make changes at anytime. I have read rumors of what may happen with it, but I won’t post anything until it is announced.
The Muppet Mobile Lab drove out from Innoventions West at 11:30 a.m. with Dr. Bunsen Honeydew and Beaker. We didn’t try earlier to see if they’d arrive at 10:30.
The back of the Muppet Mobile Lab has similar or the same decorations on it as it did in 2007, including MML and “I Brake for Science”.
The Muppet Mobile Lab doesn’t have to travel far.
This is where the show is. During this scene after the audience learns that Beaker plans to leave and take a long vacation, Dr. Bunsen Honeydew comes up with a “Vacation-Tron” so you “never have to pack a suitcase”. The photo below is during the England segment, with fog.
Here is our full video of the Muppet Mobile Lab, followed by the rest of the article.
Fog envelopes the characters.
I believe this photo was from the Indonesia volcano segment, there is also Alaska with confetti snow.
There is a Victoria Falls “vacation” with the small hoses below.
Beaker won’t have his coat on for long.
Here is a closer look at the vehicle.
Dr. Bunsen Honeydew introduces the “Anti-Sneeze Ray”.
The end result is that Beaker loses his coat and his hair goes wild.

After that, the Muppet Mobile Lab heads back. There was also an interactive segment with an audience member.
Honk if you love osmosis.
Beaker looks a little worse for wear after his Anti-Sneeze Ray experience.
If you get a chance to see the Muppet Mobile Lab, definitely check it out. I look forward to seeing the other Muppet offerings in the upcoming weeks at Walt Disney World.
