Halloween 2018 at Disneyland Paris Promises More Surprises Than Ever Before

Hi everyone!

Halloween kicks off just over 3 weeks away from now at Disneyland Paris – just 6 short weeks after we start it in Florida! I can’t wait for the DLP event, there is always so much to see for Halloween – this will be our third time visiting for the season at Disneyland Paris. Disneyland Paris shared an interview with us to post with show directors of the Halloween season, Françoise Baffioni and Emmanuel Lenormand. The interview covers some of the regular Halloween season as well as Halloween night – the only night with a hard ticket (extra priced) party. Halloween night sounds like a lot of fun, hopefully someday we’ll make it for that. Keep reading for the interview!

Françoise Baffioni and Emmanuel Lenormand are the show directors of the season. But what does the role of Show Director at Disneyland Paris actually involve? He or she oversees all the creative aspects of an event or season. “To carry out this role, the person must be sensitive to Disney magic” said Françoise. So, this is the opportunity to find out more about the season which many guests eagerly await.

So what new things are in store for guests this year?

Françoise Baffioni: Not only will Mickey’s Halloween Cavalcade come back, but it will also have many surprises: new costumes and a new music composed by Scott Erickson (editor’s note: composer of many themes at Disneyland Paris, such as the famous “Do You Believe” ) for an event on Central Plaza. About this music, we could call it country-rock ; a superb energy emerges from it!

But the big novelty of this year is this ” Mickey’s Illusion Manor” float on which Mickey will play the role of an illusionist. On the way to the Cavalcade, all the scenes will be at the heart of the animations, just like Central Plaza. In order to create a very festive atmosphere, we have also designed a brand new choreography for dancers.

This year Halloween promises to be spectacular again. Have you got any figures or fun facts?

Françoise: There will be a total of 83 Parade Performers in every show, twice a day, every day of the season. Guests could meet 19 different Disney Characters.

Why should you get your ticket for the Halloween party on 31 October?

Emmanuel Lenormand: Because we have surprises in store for you of course. A number of villains have been invited.

There will be two Dance Parties. The first will be the Skeletoon Party with Goofy and Max who will get guests dancing to the greatest hits dating from the present day back to the 70s.The second party will be hosted by Buzz Lightyear as DJ, who will be connected from space with Zurg in Discoveryland®.  DJ Don Diablo will take the lead just after until 2am.

We are also putting on a never-before-seen event at Videopolis Theater. This is where we will be able to see the Characters of Big Hero 6 in a very modern show with laser and special effects. This will be the first show with these Characters. And in Adventureland®, we will be setting up a Scary Zone, on Adventure Isle to be more precise. Guests will be able to immerse themselves in the setting of Pirates of the Caribbean with scary creatures. Access will be free, but it is not recommended for young children or anyone who is sensitive. It’s very scary.

Françoise: The aim this year is to innovate, but also to try to meet a certain demand. And this Scary Zone meets many guests’ demands.

Emmanuel: I would also like to add that it is important to look everywhere as there are many surprises in store for guests walking around the park, particularly at Sleeping Beauty Castle and Big Thunder Mountain.

One last question. Who is your favourite villain?

Françoise: Jafar has a certain class.

Emmanuel: The Evil Queen from Snow White. Before this film, which dates back to 1937, witches were represented as ugly, old women. Walt Disney has made this Character classy and amazingly beautiful. Disney’s female villains are beautiful, but really bad.

And that’s not all. Some of the animations you loved in previous years are back. Miguel from Coco and the Mariachis will be at Fuente del Oro in Frontierland®, while the mischievous ghosts will also be back on Main Street U.S.A.

The party on 31 October promises to be wild.

From 8:30 p.m. until 2 a.m.
