Disney's Art of Animation Resort

Disney’s Art of Animation Resort Photo Walk 2019: Photo Tour of the Resort in 200 Photos

The Lion King section is going to be the smallest with just two buildings. While the Finding Nemo section also has two guest buildings, Animation Hall forms kind of a triangle with them and The Big Blue Pool takes up a lot of space.

This area is much more lush.

We arrive to Zazu at 1:34 p.m.

The Lion King section also has no pool.

Scar is on the left.

Scar.

The Boneyard is a small playground area for kids.

The Boneyard is watched over by the hyenas Shenzi, Banzai and Ed.

Here is one last look at The Boneyard.

There is a lot of greenery along the way.

Even the buildings are green.

Up ahead we can see Simba on Pride Rock.

We are also nearing Animation Hall and The Big Blue Pool.

To the left, you can find Simba, Pumbaa and Timon.

Simba up close.

And older Simba is ahead.

We are passing building #10 on the right.

One last look at Simba.

And we can see Animation Hall.

Rafiki is on the right, at the entrance to The Lion King section on this side.

Now we are heading out of The Lion King.

We went from a lot of green to a lot of blue.

Animation Hall is on the right hand side, with Landscape of Flavors very close.

Landscape of Flavors is one of my favorite food courts on property.

We are heading to where we started.

And we arrive at the Animation Hall sign at 1:37 p.m. The walk took 23 minutes without stopping, a nice mile or more winding through the resort. There is a lot more to explore, some at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort but more by adding Disney’s Pop Century into the mix. My next photo walk will be there. But first, I will show a little more of the Finding Nemo section in an untimed walk.

There is a courtyard area taken very much up by the Big Blue Pool.

The Finding Nemo Seagulls are up above.

You can walk on either side of The Big Blue Pool. If you keep walking, you will cross the bridge I talked about earlier and will end up at Disney’s Pop Century Resort.

Crush and Dory are ahead.

Crush and Dory.

The Righteous Reef Playground is small but cute.

Squirt is adorable.

Mr. Ray is on the opposite side from Crush and Dory.

I am not walking toward the bridge this time – again, just because there is construction down that way in preparation for the Disney Skyliner. It is mostly concentrated on or near the bridge in between the two resorts.

Disney’s Art of Animation Resort is a fun resort to walk around, and ensures that families of 6 can stay together in one room. If you have 5 or less, there are more options in different categories (including deluxe). If I had a family of 4 or 5, I’d check into discounted room prices for a deluxe property like Disney’s Polynesian Resort that is on the monorail and close to the Magic Kingdom. But the great thing about Walt Disney World is there are so many options now – including family suites at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort!

We do partner with MEI Travel/Mouse Fan Travel – they’ve been in business for over 20 years and I recommend them to help figure out the best resort and dining options for your visit.

Walt Disney World photo walks are the big reason I started Mousesteps in 2007. While I’ve often gotten away from them with as busy as we get, I’m going to try to push through a lot for 2019 – next up, Disney’s Pop Century Resort! Some resorts are changing a lot, like Disney’s Coronado Springs – but it will be done soon (July) and I will post a new photo walk then. I did post an updated photo walk between Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios in 2019.
