Disney Springs Begins Phased Openings on May 20th, 2020 After COVID-19 Closure
Hi everyone –
Disney has announced that Disney Springs will be opening in phases starting on May 20th, 2020. The Disney Parks Blog says that, ” Following the guidance of government and health officials, a limited number of shopping and dining experiences that are owned by third-party operating participants will begin to open during this initial phase. The rest of Walt Disney World Resort will remain closed, including theme parks and resort hotels.” So far we know that Wine Bar George and STK plan to open, we are still waiting to hear of more locations.
There will be operational changes to protect guests and Cast Members, including cleaning procedures, the use of appropriate face coverings (masks) by both Cast Members and guests, and limited-contact guest services and additional safety training for Cast Members.
Disney Springs will have limits on capacity, parking and operating hours at opening. Read more on the Disney Parks Blog. By May 20th, 2020, Disney Springs will have been closed for 2 months. Remember – not everything will be open – this is just like stepping into the water slowly with the toes. We were at Disney Springs just before it fully closed and only a few shops were still open. It will not feel like a complete experience, but it will be nice to get back and walk around for a bit and take some food to go.
