“Nightmare Before Christmas” Cavalcade Debuts on Opening Day of 2020 Magic Kingdom Halloween Offerings (Photos, Video)

Hi everyone!

We have a lot to share over the next couple of days in photos, video and information about Halloween at the Magic Kingdom this year. With Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party canceled for 2020, Disney has come up with some fun ways to enjoy the Halloween season at the park through Halloween. Most of it is in the form of characters. There aren’t nearly as many Halloween decorations as usual, but the entertainment is terrific. And one of the cavalcades that guests can see during most days of the week is the Nightmare Before Christmas Cavalcade with Jack Skellington, Sally and Oogie Boogie.

Here is our video of the cavalcade.

We watched the cavalcade from both Main Street looking on from Town Square, and in Frontierland. The cavalcades all run multiple times per day. There were many more guests watching during this first showing of the cavalcade for 2020 (and being the first of the day). Just like any other day, cavalcades should be less watched as the day goes on.

Jack and Sally normally meet during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and Oogie Boogie is in Mickey’s Boo-to-You Parade each year.

There are no set times for the cavalcades, but there is almost always something going on in the Magic Kingdom either with a cavalcade or socially distanced character appearance elsewhere in the park.

Sally strikes a pose.

There was a Cast Member near us with a social distancing sign. Honestly, at this time of day  on Main Street there isn’t 6 feet of space when the cavalcades are coming. We were able to have a lot of room in Frontierland an hour or two later.

I didn’t realize Jack would be joined by Sally and Oogie Boogie, all of the cavalcades had more performers and characters than I expected.

We were in Frontierland when the second Nightmare Before Christmas Cavalcade started. I do recommend if weather seems to be good to wait until a later cavalcade if it seems busy on the parade route. These are quick cavalcades, not parades and guests will notice them and run to see (especially early).

I didn’t see Oogie Boogie fully until Frontierland.

Oogie Boogie is also normally in Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.

This is a fun cavalcade.

Jack waves as they pass by in Frontierland.

By tomorrow night I’ll have each cavalcade/character appearance written up as well as an overall article. It was a pretty nice day, a little busy in the morning but I expected it to be as well. By the time we left, the park was really comfortable. I do recommend visiting on a weekday as opposed to a weekend if you can.
