Joy and Winnie the Pooh have had a distanced character experience outside of Epcot’s Journey into Imagination since the parks reopened. For Taste of Epcot International Festival of the Holidays, they have a little holiday flourish as well – Joy with garland, and Pooh with a Santa hat. We stopped by to see them last week.
Here is our video of Joy. We have seen her with the garland in the Mickey’s Happy Holidays procession at Disney California Adventure (the music can be heard in World Showcase when Mickey & Friends circle World Showcase this holiday season).
Joy walks out to a gift in the middle of the grass.
She ponders it.
She opens the box and then looks surprised.
She never actually takes anything out of it, unlike Pooh later in the article.
On this day, she spent more of her time closer to the walkway where you can see guests in the photo. That isn’t always the case.
Joy is reflected.
The characters tend to be playful in these experiences – it isn’t really a meet and greet, though they will stop for photos.
Here is one last look at Joy before Pooh arrived.
Once Joy left, Pooh came back. He wore a Santa hat.
Here is our video of Pooh and then photos.
This has been a favorite tree for Pooh to pose at.
He also walked toward the gift.
And then he took a long look at it.
He opened it and did find something inside.
He found bells. He enjoyed a little time ringing them.
And then he took the gift and walked off. I am not sure if it was the end of the day for them.
Taste of Epcot International Festival of the Holidays runs through December 31st, 2020.
We are posting much more from Epcot and around Walt Disney World this month as the holidays progress!
