“A Celebration of Festival of the Lion King” Officially Debuts May 15th; Disney Parks Blog to Livestream First Show

“A Celebration of Festival of the Lion King” is officially opening at Disney’s Animal Kingdom on May 15, 2021 after about a week of shows during the soft opening time period. There are some changes to the show due to safety protocols for the time being but it is nice to have the show back!

Currently there is physical distancing as part of Disney’s health and safety measures, so the opportunity to view “A Celebration of Festival of the Lion King” will be more limited. With that in mind, Disney will offer a one-time live stream of the first official show on May 15 at 12:25 p.m. ET on the Disney Parks Blog.

As live entertainment and Disney performers continue to return to Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., “A Celebration of Festival of the Lion King” will debut May 15, 2021, at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. Presented in a modified format to be mindful of the current environment, the show features music and characters from the classic Disney film “The Lion King.” (Matt Stroshane, photographer)
