New “Luca” Featurette Released, Disney and Pixar Animated Film to Debut June 18th on Disney+

Hi everyone!

Disney and Pixar’s Luca will begin streaming on Disney+ June 18th, 2021. Today, a new featurette was relased to celebrate National Streaming Day. The animated movie is about friendship and I just wish we could see it on the big screen! Watch the featurette and read more about the film below.

Celebrate National Streaming Day with Disney+ with a fun new featurette showcasing how one friend can change your life forever—a key theme in Disney and Pixar’s upcoming original feature film “Luca.” Director Enrico Casarosa and members of the voice cast including Jacob Tremblay, Jack Dylan Grazer, Emma Berman, Maya Rudolph and Jim Gaffigan share thoughts about the film and stories about their own childhood friends. “Luca,” which streams exclusively on Disney+ for all subscribers beginning June 18, 2021, highlights a friendship between two sea monsters—one a little timid and afraid to get out of his comfort zone—and the other who dives into life head-first.

Disney and Pixar’s original feature film “Luca” is a coming-of-age story about one young boy experiencing an unforgettable summer filled with gelato, pasta and endless scooter rides. Luca shares these adventures with his newfound best friend, but all the fun is threatened by a deeply-held secret: they are sea monsters from another world just below the water’s surface. The voice cast features Jacob Tremblay as Luca Paguro, Jack Dylan Grazer as Alberto Scorfano, Emma Berman as Giulia Marcovaldo, Saverio Raimondo as town bully Ercole Visconti, Maya Rudolph as Luca’s mom Daniela, Marco Barricelli as Giulia’s dad Massimo, Jim Gaffigan as Luca’s dad Lorenzo, Sandy Martin as Luca’s grandma, and Giacomo Gianniotti as a local fisherman. Pixar Animation Studios’ 24th feature film is directed by Academy Award® nominee Enrico Casarosa (“La Luna”) and produced by Andrea Warren (“Lava,” “Cars 3”). Award-winning composer Dan Romer (“Beasts of the Southern Wild,” “Maniac”) created the score.
