“Mickey’s Dazzling Christmas Parade” to Debut at Disneyland Paris November 13th; What We Know So Far

Hi everyone!

The new “Mickey’s Dazzling Christmas Parade” is set to debut at Disneyland Paris on November 13th, 2021 as part of Disney’s Enchanted Christmas. We found out this past week that Jody Daily designed the floats for the parade, which makes me look forward to it even more when we visit next month. Jody Daily and Kevin Kidney were co-designers on Disneyland’s wonderful Mickey’s Soundsational Parade” and Daily also designed the “Happiness is Here” parade at Tokyo Disneyland. We have quite a few pieces of merchandise designed by this exceptionally talented team as well. Here is more of what we know about “Mickey’s Dazzling Christmas Parade”.

“Mickey’s Dazzling Christmas Parade” has been in development since 2017, according to the video below. Show director Emanuel Lenormand talks about the parade while we see glimpses of the floats, the costumes and a look behind-the-scenes.

The parade consists of five gigantic floats that will include Mickey and his friends, Disney princesses and Santa Claus accompanied by Tinker Bell. Each float will have a Christmas tree. Here is a look at a screen capture from the video of the float that includes Mickey, Stitch and Pluto.

Disneyland Paris shared this photo of Pluto.

Here are a couple of more screen caps showing portions of the floats.

There are 200 costumes designed for the parade! The floats will each represent “an idyllic Christmas scene” with traditional decorations.  Parade performers will be dressed in “luminous” costumes specially designed for the parade.

Show director Emanuel Lenormand said about “Mickey’s Dazzling Christmas Parade”, “This new Parade is a surprise because there is a daytime version and it becomes a new show come nightfall with hundreds of thousands of lights that illuminate these floats and tell a new story”. I can’t wait to see the parade during the day, but it looks like it was really designed for nighttime viewing.

The Disneyland Paris website says, Prepare to be spellbound as Mickey & Friends, Disney Princesses and even Santa Claus make a special stop once a day during the brand new Mickey’s Dazzling Christmas Parade to switch on the lights of the giant Christmas Tree.

Here is a look at the promo video for the season that is featured on the Disneyland Paris website.

I can’t wait for even more information to be shared about Mickey’s Dazzling Christmas Parade! This is really the centerpiece of the holiday season and we plan to see it many times. The decor will be beautiful at the park and it will “snow” more than 12 times a day on Main Street, U.S.A. (I would love to see some real snow this trip!). Nighttime spectacular Disney Illuminations returns on December 21st. Disney’s Enchanted Christmas runs through January 9th, 2022.

Other facts and figures about the Christmas decorations at Disneyland Paris:

7km of garlands in the two Parks and on the Christmas trees

11,604 Christmas ornaments

78 real Christmas trees

A majestic tree 24 meters high and 24 tons, with more than 1,000 decorative objects

More than 37,000 flowers planted over four days by the Horticulture teams

I look forward to this beautiful season at Disneyland Paris. We were there last in June and the days are so long in summer – we barely saw a night sky with the 10:30pm sunsets. Now we’ll see nighttime almost as much as daytime. This will be our second visit during Disney’s Enchanted Christmas, the first being in 2018.  Mulled wine and gingerbread are calling my name!
