First Topiaries Appear for EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival 2022 (Photos, Video)

Hi everyone!

Topiaries and gardens have started being placed for the EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival! We stopped by this morning, usually I find first topiaries being placed at this time. The EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival runs from March 2nd – July 4th, 2022 – 125 days! This is my favorite time of year. Here are photos and video from today.

First our video.

Bambi’s Butterfly House is currently being built near the Imagination pavilion.

The main flower quilt is filling in and will continue to do so.

There will probably be 3 plantings this year, with different seasonal flowers and colors. And check out the Minnie Mouse – I showed in a previous article the Minnie heads added this year for the first time.

The “50” represents 50 years of Walt Disney World.

The other flower quilt was planted in the past couple of days.

Here also is a “50” and the same Mickey and Minnie pattern.

A monorail passes by with the 50th Anniversary logo.

Now for the first topiaries of the season! The troll is very different than in previous years. He is in Norway, in the location Anna and Elsa used to be in.

Here is a look at the troll last year, which was a change from previous years. He looks much better for 2022.

Here is a look at his fluffy hair.

And one last photo from a distance.

Anna and Elsa are back in the Norway pavilion but on the little stage area on the way to Frozen Ever After. The characters are a little harder to photograph than usual because of the attraction line.

Anna and Elsa debuted in 2015, 7 years ago now.

Next are the pandas in the China pavilion. A few years ago they were moved to this location, which allows them to look a lot more playful and spread out in a larger area than they were when up against the Nine Dragons restaurant.

In Morocco, the Spice Garden is planted.

In the United Kingdom pavilion, the Pooh characters are out – Rabbit, Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore and Tigger.

Rabbit holds his carrots.

Pooh holds his balloon.

Tigger is with Eeyore and Piglet.

Piglet is pink this year.

This is what Piglet looked like last year.

Eeyore is below Piglet.

The Shakespeare Garden is back near the restrooms.

Tick Tock Croc has returned. He looks like he is swimming in water.

Peter Pan and Captain Hook are in a different location than the last few years.

Peter Pan received a new look in 2020, more lifelike.

Captain Hook also received a newer look.

It is always exciting to find the first topiaries and I look forward to heading to EPCOT Sunday to see the progress.
