Disney’s Port Orleans Mardi Gras Parade Returns with 2022 Theme “50 Years of Magic” (Photos, Video)

Hi everyone!

Disney’s Port Orleans Resort offered its yearly Mardi Gras Parade today after taking a year off. The theme was “50 Years of Magic” celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Walt Disney World. The parade ran from Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside to Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter. We always watch it at Port Orleans French Quarter.  Themes for the pargo/golf carts included Haunted Mansion, Country Bear Jamboree and the Jungle Cruise. Here are photos and video from today!

First, our video with two different angles.

There was ribbon celebrating Mardi Gras. On the right, a long line for beignets today.

The parade ran along the Sassagoula River path on the way from Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside.

The parade arrived with the Walt Disney World Ambassadors holding the banner.

Ali Manion and Raevon Redding are the newest Walt Disney World Ambassadors for the 2022-2023 term.

A baton twirler led the way.

The band was next.

Princess Tiana was back in the horse and carriage.

Cast Members decorate all the pargo/golf carts, unlike at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Campground during their golf cart parades.

Cast Members handed out beads and candy.

This cart was themed to “Alice in Wonderland”.

The next one, the Enchanted Tiki Room.

Cast Members hold up “Welcome Foolish Mortals” signs in advance of the Haunted Mansion cart.

The bride and other characters are also represented.

Here is a look at the cart.

The caretaker had a real dog.

Madame Leota wore a mask.

Next is a 50th Anniversary decorated cart.

The Country Bear Jamboree was really a fun one.

Melvin, Buff and Max were on the front of the cart, decorated with beads. Cast Members were dressed in costumes that represented some of the bears.

“it’s a small world” was next.

Cast Members represented various countries.

More beads were passed out.

This cart represents Storybook Circus.

Dumbo and Timothy Mouse were on top.

The last cart was the Jungle Cruise.

Here is a look at that beignet line. I have never seen it so long!

It was wonderful to see the parade back this year! The Cast Members were very creative and came up with some terrific carts.
