Raglan Road Irish Pub and Restaurant Celebrates World Whiskey Day 2022 with a Special Offer (Photos)

Hi everyone!

We were invited to Raglan Road Irish Pub at Disney Springs yesterday ahead of World Whiskey Day, which is always on the third Saturday of May (May 21st, 2022). Raglan Road is offering a whiskey special that day! We also tried a few dishes not yet on the menu (but will be soon). Keep reading for more information on the special and the delicious food we tried!

Raglan Road is an authentic Irish pub that was built in Ireland, then shipped here and rebuilt in 2005. Outside the restaurant is a statue of Irish poet Patrick Kavanagh.

Raglan Road also offers live entertainment each evening, and during the day as well on Saturdays and Sundays. Check out their lineup here!

Now on to the World Whiskey Day special!

The exclusive “world tour of Ireland” is through a flight of four fine Irish whiskeys listed here:

  • Limavady Single Malt from Limavady, northwest of Belfast
  • Lost Irish from Termonfeckin in County Louth
  • Drumshanbo Single Pot from Drumshanbo, County Leitrim
  • Clonakilty Single Grain from County Cork to the south of the Isle

This $30 flight is valued at $45 if purchased separately.

Here is a look at the four whiskeys.

We received a menu of the food and specialty drinks we were trying.

The Raglan Buck is a new drink, with Lost Irish whiskey, fresh lemon juice, strawberry syrup, Angostura bitters, topped with a splash of ginger beer. This is a great drink! On a hot day, it was refreshing and very easy to go down.

Jeff also had a Guinness, as he always does when we are at Raglan Road.

We were introduced to the four whiskeys by representatives from several distilleries.

Here is a look at the flight. My favorite was the Lost Irish. Raglan Road says about the Lost Irish, “This is aged in casks from six different continents, made in the three styles of Irish Whiskey (grain, malt and pot still). The grain adds a lightness to blend with a sweeter taste and floral aroma. The malt adds a rich and rounded balance which is fruity and soft and the addition of a classic pot still style delivers a full creamy mouthfeel with a hint of spice”. Even better, it is in the Raglan Buck drink I shared above.

The food items we tried were all great, with different members of our table choosing a favorite. “The Buckled” is a bacon and cabbage pastry roll with celery root puree. It is stuffed with the bacon and cabbage and was very popular at our table.

We tried the Braised Short Rib, which is on the menu already (the only dish we tried that is) although a little differently as far as accompaniments. It is delicious and no knife was needed for the short rib.

“The Deadly” is smoked salmon, dill pickled cucumber, caper crème fresh on a Guinness & treacle Irish soda bread.

My favorite dish (except for dessert) was “The Bang On”, which is bang bang chicken with spiced shredded salad. The chicken was very tasty.

My favorite dessert normally at Raglan Road is Ger’s Bread and Butter Pudding. BUT, “The Gobsmacked”, which is a triple Irish coffee dessert is AMAZING. I am not sure if this one has hit the menu yet, but look for it. It really tastes decadent and the chocolate shamrock on top is just the cherry on the top, so to speak.

If you prefer to dine outside, there is outdoor seating as well.

World Whiskey Day comes around once a year, but Raglan Road is open all year round with delicious food and drinks. I recommend making reservations, especially during peak times. Raglan Road is located in The Landing area of Disney Springs.
