Journey of Water, Inspired by “Moana” Construction Photos and Video at EPCOT

Hi everyone!

Journey of Water, Inspired by “Moana” is taking shape in the World Nature area of EPCOT. This is the first experience based on the film “Moana”, and Disney says that it “will let guests interact with magical, living water in a beautiful and inspiring setting.” The walk-through experience was first announced in 2019 and there is no date for opening yet. Here are photos and video from yesterday of the construction!

First, our video.

Here is an overview of concept art before the photos.

We took a monorail through EPCOT to see the progress.

There is quite a bit of rock work being added now.

Disney says about World Nature, that it “will be dedicated to understanding and preserving the beauty, awe and balance of the natural world. It will include The Land and The Seas with Nemo & Friends pavilions, as well as the new Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana. Journey of Water.”

Disney says about  Journey of Water, Inspired by “Moana”, “This lush exploration trail will invite guests to meet and play with magical, living water. Just like Moana’s friend the ocean, water will have a personality of its own, helping guests learn how to protect the natural water cycle in a fun and engaging way.”

More photos show the scope of the rock work being added.

Here is a look at one piece of concept art.

And more photos of the progress as of yesterday.

This isn’t a ride, but a walk-through water attraction coming to EPCOT. I assume it will be finished next year (2023), I do look forward to this area of EPCOT being complete.
