Final Touches Made to Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort Gingerbread House (Photos)

Hi everyone!

Final touches were being made to the Grand Floridian Gingerbread House today. The iconic house opens on November 9th, 2022! Here is a look from today.

Most of the gingerbread shingles were in place.

The ingredients include 1050 pounds of honey, 140 pints of egg whites, 600 pounds of powdered sugar, 700 pounds of chocolate, 800 pounds of flour, 35 pounds of spices, and tons of creativity, Disney magic and pixie dust!

Here is a look from above.

A Cast Member places a shingle.

Just like last year, the house is celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Walt Disney World.

The decor leans toward blue and gold, including Santa’s outfit.

There are a lot of blue accents.

Every year, there is artwork above the windows. Beauty and the Beast are included.

Anna, Elsa and Olaf.

Princess Tiana and Naveen as a frog. He is wearing a blue hat.

Mickey, Minnie and Donald wear their blue 50th holiday best.

Chip and Dale also have a blue hat.

Tigger, Piglet and Pooh play in the snow.

The decorative Santas, snowmen and toy soldiers were waiting to be added around the house.

On the house, there are candy canes, snowflakes and hidden Mickeys along with floral flourishes.

Pastry Chef Kristine Farmer was getting ready for the final dusting.

She was also adding more flourishes to the house.

I didn’t stay for the final dusting this time (I wanted to beat the worst of traffic). We often have been here for that dusting, which gives the house a snowy look.

Our next post about Disney’s Grand Floridian Gingerbread House will be on opening day. It is just 5 days away! Samples have been given out over the past few days, but I’m looking forward to purchasing some gingerbread and stollen.
