Oswald and Ortensia to Meet During Lunar New Year at the Disneyland Resort Starting Today

Lunar New Year returns today to Disney California Adventure at the Disneyland Resort, and with it – a new meet and greet opportunity with not only Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, but Ortensia as well! We saw and met Ortensia at Disneyland Paris at Disney FanDaze and the Disney Loves Jazz events, but this is Ortensia’s stateside debut! Lunar New Year runs through February 15th, 2023 and we look forward to experiencing it next week.

Disneyland says of the event, Ring in the Year of the Rabbit and the Year of the Cat with culinary delights, fun festivities and Disney Characters during Lunar New Year, from January 20 to February 15, 2023!

Oswald the Lucky Rabbit and his sweetheart Ortensia the cat join the Lunar New Year Celebration at Disney California Adventure Park in Anaheim, Calif., from Jan. 20 through Feb. 15, 2023. There are other character appearances as well! Mickey and Minnie greet guests, also in Paradise Gardens.

And Raya will return to the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail.

Other highlights of Lunar New Year at Disney California Adventure include:

  • Six Lunar New Year marketplaces, including two new locations, offer Asian-inspired dishes. Guests can read the Disney Eats Foodie Guide for the full menu. Shareable between friends and family, guests may choose to purchase a Sip and Savor Pass for six coupons redeemable for select food and nonalcoholic beverages from participating marketplaces and dining locations.
  • The nighttime water show “Hurry Home – Lunar New Year Celebration” returns, presented on Paradise Bay shortly before “World of Color.”

This will be our first time experiencing Lunar New Year at Disney California Adventure. Next week – January 27th, 2023 – is also the kickoff of Disney100 at the Disneyland Resort, so there will be so much to see and do!
