Meeting Jack and Sally at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party 2023 (Photos, Video)

Hi everyone!

The next in the series of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party articles I am writing for 2023 is about meeting Jack and Sally at Town Square Theater. We attended the first three party nights (you can read my 18 Tips on Enjoying Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party 2023).

Jack and Sally are the most popular meet and greet at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, and this year it feels like they are more popular than ever. We have been meeting them since they debuted for the party in 2013.

Here is our experience from the second night.

We arrived around 4:10 a.m. to Town Square Theater to meet Jack and Sally on the second party day. We know others who arrived to the front gate (outside of the Magic Kingdom) about 90+ minutes early on the first party day and met them pretty quickly once in the Magic Kingdom. It was way too hot to be standing outside for us at that time…almost 100 degrees. So we secured our wristbands in Tomorrowland (there are three locations in the park to pick up wristbands starting at 4:00 p.m. if you are already inside) and headed to Town Square Theater. No wait time was given yet.

On this day, Jack and Sally started meeting at 4:00 p.m. On the first party night, they met beginning at 4:30 p.m.

Jack and Sally are noted outside the meet and greet area.

When we entered the line, it was moving pretty smoothly and often. That probably lasted a half hour or more, and then it slowed down to a crawl. At first we expected to wait 60 – 90 minutes, which is about what we normally wait for them. I am not sure what time the DAS line starts, but at that time there are two lines merging together (just as at some other meets). It was extremely busy but I didn’t notice anyone around us leaving the line.

As with other years, once you get past the rope there is a themed area. It took us over 3 hours to get to that point.

There is theming along the way.

Theming extends to the ground, where guests snake along the line.

I think Jack and Sally are the best meet and greet for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party each year, between the themed location and excellent interactions with guests. It is also a relatively private meet.

Here is our video with Jack and Sally this year, and then photos.

Jack and Sally have a themed backdrop (it is different during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party).

They interact with each other and with guests.

“The Nightmare Before Christmas” turns 30 this year (as does “Hocus Pocus”) and that may have lent to the even longer lines than we’ve encountered in the past.

Jack and Sally look at each other.

And one last pose.

When we left Town Square Theater, the sign said 240 minutes wait (our wait was close, at 3 hours and 40 minutes). It can be really hard to get an accurate feel for what the line will be like, because I also assume some guests will leave the line if it starts taking up a lot of party time. Someone on my Twitter feed said they arrived just after we did and they were told it was a one hour wait. Jeff also overheard a guest talking to a manager. She had been told a 90 minute wait but it was over 3 hours. So hopefully with it being early in the Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party season, they will figure out a way to more accurately predict the line and maybe keep the line down a bit more.

Jack and Sally do not sign autographs. However, just as with some other character meets at the party, autograph cards are handed out. These make a nice souvenir!

As the weather cools down, waiting outside the Magic Kingdom gates may be the best bet – although it will still take 90+ minutes of waiting before getting into the park. And more guests may start doing that. So unlike other years, I don’t really have a tip on how to meet them because it is just an exceptionally popular meet and greet and most guests will be waiting.

Jeff was also told by a manager that later in the evening can be better, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t a line. We stopped by for Mickey a bit after 11:00 p.m. on the third party night and the Jack and Sally line had closed (we overheard mention of an hour and a half wait).  But if you want to meet Mickey, we did it with almost no wait.
