Disney Cruise Line Reveals Details About Upcoming Disney Treasure Cruise Ship

Hi everyone!

I had the opportunity to learn more about the Disney Treasure on a media event aboard the Disney Wish last week. We are posting this as Disney reveals everything we learned that day.

First, the maiden voyage will be a seven-night Eastern Caribbean cruise from Port Canaveral on December 21st, 2024! Disney Cruise Line Castaway Club Members will be able to book starting September 12th, 2023. Bookings will open for everyone else starting September 20th. We recommend booking with our travel partner MEI and Mouse Fan Travel.

Here is our Mousesteps Weekly show #486, where we talk about the Disney Treasure announcements! And then keep reading below.

I wanted to hit on some of what you’ll find new aboard the Disney Treasure. What I like about the Disney Treasure overall is that it really leans quite a bit into the “adventure” theme.

The Grand Hall will be “Aladdin” themed, which has been announced previously.

Inspired by the grandeur and mystery of a gilded palace, the Grand Hall aboard the Disney Treasure, Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship, draws on real-world influences from Asia and Africa and pays homage to the far-off land of Agrabah from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ classic tale, “Aladdin.” (Disney)
The Grand Hall of the Disney Treasure, Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship, will radiate the irresistible allure of adventure, inviting guests to seek all the treasures on board from the moment they embark. There are new spaces on board the Disney Treasure. As the sister ship to the Disney Wish, the layout will be pretty much the same. So, for example – the new Plaza de Coco theatrical dining experience will inhabit the space you know as Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure on the Disney Wish.

Because the cruises will be seven nights, there will be two different shows with two different menus in this location.

Disney says of Plaza de Coco, “The story of Miguel and his familia will continue where it left off on screen as they gather in Mariachi Plaza to take guests on two nights of colorful, music-filled journeys that celebrate family memories and togetherness with festive dinner menus of modern twists on traditional Mexican fare and a lineup of live entertainment.”.

On board the Disney Treasure, Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship, guests will dive into the mythical depths of uncharted oceans at the Periscope Pub. Serving as Disney Cruise Line’s first venue inspired by the spellbinding adventure of Walt Disney’s 1954 film, “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea” and the legacy Disney Parks attraction, the submarine-styled interiors will give guests a look at the watery world below through an intriguing glass ceiling.

I am looking forward to the Periscope Pub, which will be themed to “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea” and the Disney Parks attraction. I had the opportunity to see it virtually on an iPad and I know we will spend a lot of time in that space. That isn’t the only Disney Parks attraction represented on the Disney Treasure, there will be the Skipper Society as well, with nods to the iconic Jungle Cruise attraction.

In the Walt Disney Theatre, there will be a brand-new (unnamed so far) production in addition to “Beauty and the Beast” and the wonderful “Disney Seas the Adventure” that debuted on the Disney Wish.

“Beauty and the Beast” will bring Belle’s enchanting adventure to the Walt Disney Theatre stage aboard the Disney Treasure, incorporating imaginative elements from the live-action film and the classic animated feature. Guests will be invited to experience this tale as old as time, as they are whisked away on a magical journey to discover the power of transformation in this fan-favorite Broadway-style musical. And the AquaMouse will receive a new adventure called AquaMouse: Curse of the Golden Egg. Disney says of this new adventure, “Onboard the Disney Treasure, AquaMouse will introduce an all-new storyline that follows Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse on a zany misadventure into an ancient temple.” This adventure will also be on the Disney Wish.

Sarabi will be a central hub for daytime activities and adults-only evening entertainment, named for the lioness matriarch from Disney’s “The Lion King”.

The Tomorrow Tower Suite will be EPCOT themed, set in the Disney Treasure’s forward funnel.

Set high in the Disney Treasure’s forward funnel, The Tomorrow Tower Suite will be a one-of-a-kind suite that overlooks the ship’s top deck and glimpses the unbounded open horizon through an expansive two-story window. The Tomorrow Tower Suite captures the same forward-thinking mindset that inspired Walt Disney World Resort’s theme park, EPCOT. (Disney)

Jumbeaux’s Sweets is inspired by Jumbeaux Cafe from Disney’s Zootopia. There will be more than 20 flavors of handmade gelato and 16 flavors of ice cream, in addition to other treats (like Joyful Sweets on the Disney Wish, this is an extra cost location).

Onboard the Disney Treasure, the sweetshop, Jumbeaux’s Sweets, will be reminiscent of the popular ice cream parlor, Jumbeaux Café, from the bustling mammal metropolis featured in Disney’s “Zootopia.” Surrounded by playful pink interiors, Victorian-style architecture and an endearing sculpture of Officer Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde, guests will be served humor and heart by the cone full., along with a selection of more than 20 flavors of handmade gelato, 16 flavors of ice cream and sorbets, specialty treats, candies and more. The Hyperspace Lounge will not be part of the Disney Treasure, but nothing has been announced yet for it.

Worlds of Marvel will also be a two night experience for guests on the Disney Treasure.

There is much more on the Disney Treasure as well, including Palo Steakhouse, Disney’s Oceaneer Club, Senses Spa and a lot more aboard the ship.

We look forward to when the Disney Treasure sets sail late in 2024.
