Chalk Art Begins for EPCOT International Festival of the Arts 2024 Ahead of Friday Opening

Hi everyone!

Chalk artists began chalking today for EPCOT International Festival of the Arts, which kicks off on Friday, January 12th and runs through February 19th, 2024. There were two chalk artists, including Leigh, who has been creating Disney themed chalk art since EPCOT International Festival of the Arts debuted in 2017. She is the only regularly scheduled chalk artist who creates Disney art (Nate Baranowski has created amazing 3D Disney chalk art as well on weekends since the festival started).

Leigh says on her Instagram account that she will be chalking on even days in January and odd days in February.

Here are photos from today!

Leigh’s first project for 2024 is this chalk art of Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy and Pluto. Pluto is not yet chalked in and is just an outline.

Leigh was working on Minnie Mouse while we were there.

The area that the chalk art can be found is the walkway/bridge between what used to be Future World (now World Celebration) and World Showcase. Photos can be tricky here because there are trees and bars that throw shadows. I always hope the chalk artists will be moved.

However, there were some clouds that allowed for photos of the artwork without shadows briefly.

The characters are in their classic outfits.

Another talented chalk artist was also out. It was hard to get a straight-on shot of the artwork, but there will be so much more soon to enjoy. What I really like about the chalk art is that it is different all the time, an ever changing display.

There are banners out now for EPCOT International Festival of the Arts 2024, featuring Figment.

We will have much more to share for EPCOT International Festival of the Arts in the coming days! Today was a beautiful day for the chalk art to begin.
