Our Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point Construction Photos (Over 30 Pics!) and Video from February 2024

Hi everyone!

While sailing this past week on the Sky Princess, we passed Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point – the upcoming and second private destination for the Disney Cruise Line in the Bahamas, located on the island of Eleuthera. We have construction photos and video to share!

The first sailings to Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point are scheduled for early June.

First, here is our video. The video and photos were taken from different areas on the ship.

And here are my construction photos of Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point.

The first area I noticed was filled with construction equipment.

I am not sure if this is where the Goombay Cultural Center will be, but that will be a colorful arts and cultural pavilion.

Here is a look at concept art from Disney.

At Disney Cruise Line’s new destination on the island of Eleuthera, guests will be immersed in stories and traditions passed down among generations of local residents. Disney is working closely with Bahamian artists and advisors to create experiences that represent the country’s natural beauty and rich culture, brought to life through Disney storytelling and the unparalleled service of local cast and crew. This photo includes some of the buildings and then the start of the cabanas with colorful rooftops.

It was incredible to see the work in person! And the pier is in the foreground.

We were close to the location but this was my view with zoom. So there has been a lot of cropping to most of the photos.

This appears to be the arrival point for guests (it looks very much like the concept art below it).

Here is a look at the concept art of the arrival point to Mabrika Cove.

“Mabrika” means “welcome” in Taino, the language of the Lucayans, who are considered the indigenous people of The Bahamas. While the language is no longer used, a few words remain – one of them being “Mabrika.” At Mabrika Cove, the colorful arrival point, guests will immediately experience the warmth of Bahamian culture. And take a look at the cabanas! The rooftops come in colors like green, blue and yellow.

This is concept art from Disney showing the cabanas.

Disney Cruise Line’s new destination on the island of Eleuthera will be a vibrant beach retreat infused with the color and energy of Bahamian artistry. Set away from the activity of the main family area, a peaceful beach along the southwestern shore will be lined with 20 premium family cabanas available to rent, including four double cabanas that accommodate larger groups and offer massage services. The cabanas look beautiful.

Here is another piece of Disney concept art showing some of Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point from above.

In addition to the pristine beaches, families will enjoy a recreation center, dining, shopping, a water playground, a cultural pavilion and more. (Artist Concept)
