Our Gaylord Palms Preview of “ICE! Featuring A Charlie Brown Christmas” Including Photos & Video

Hi everyone!

We were invited to preview ICE! Featuring a Charlie Brown Christmas at the Gaylord Palms Resort a couple of days ago. I’m actually out of town right now, but Jeff took photos and put together a terrific video. It’s less than one week until ICE! kicks off for the 2016 season on November 18th! I can’t wait to see it in person. ICE! is one of my favorite events of the holiday season, and Gaylord Palms has so much more to offer. Guests can make a full day of it during the holidays at the resort, which encompasses both free activities including Cirque Dreams UnWrapped and activities that have an entry fee, like ICE! and Alpine Rush Snow Tubing. Honestly, it isn’t quite the Christmas season for me until I’ve been to Gaylord Palms Resort. While we are invited to take part in all of the activities, I attended ICE! previous to our media involvement (my first visit was the second year it opened). Here is a look at photos and video of the preview!

I’m starting out with our 3 minute preview video, and we will have a full-length video next week.

Christmas at Gaylord Palms including ICE! Featuring A Charlie Brown Christmas runs through January 1st, 2017. Guests do receive a parka to wear for it, but I recommend gloves, a hat and double socks. It is 9 degrees, and you want to be as warm as possible!

I really love that Gaylord Palms went with a classic story this year, this one from my childhood.

Charlie Brown is the director above the ice slides, there are four of them and they are always a lot of fun!

Who doesn’t remember the tiny little Christmas tree?

Children sing around the Christmas tree. 2 million pounds of ice are carved to create the walk-through story!

The nativity is the one constant every year. It is created from crystal clear ice, which is actually the hardest to make – it takes three days.

The Christmas tree in the atrium may look similar, but it is new. There is also a new light show to go with it! From Gaylord Palms: The resort’s stunning atrium welcomes guests to experience A Christmas Wish, a new six-minute light show where narration, classic holiday music, and dazzling visual effects converge to create a spirited seasonal celebration. This free show is centered around the new, incredible 60-foot LED-lit Christmas tree towering above Emerald Plaza.

There are new decorations around the resort.

And Jeff stopped to take a photo in one!

I highly recommend Christmas at Gaylord Palms, check out the website for more information and tickets.
