Electric Mayhem Band Talks “The Muppets Mayhem” with Host Tahj Mowry at D23 Expo (Photos, Video)

Hi everyone!

The Electric Mayhem band (Floyd, Janice and Animal) joined host – and show cast member – Tahj Mowry in a conversation at the D23 Expo about the upcoming “The Muppets Mayhem” show, which will debut in 2023 on Disney+. Here is our video and some photos from yesterday!

Mowry asked the characters a series of questions, including what their roles are in the band. Janice said she is the “channeler of good vibes” and said that “I like to read auras”, and said that Mowry’s is a “funky mellow”.

When asked what the show was about, Floyd said, “It’s about a half hour” before laughing. (And then noted it was each episode). When Mowry asked for more information, Floyd countered, “That’s all I got, I’m out!”

Mowry asked the trio to give three words that fans will feel when watching the show. Animal’s response? “ROCK AND ROLL”.

Mowry asked, “After 45 years, why did the band finally decide to record an album?” Floyd answered, “That’s easy, they said they’d give us money!” Janice then said, “We were waiting for vinyl to come back”. And it did!”

Animal took off into the audience.

There was a point during the conversation where the puppeteers needed a break from having their arms up, but in a funny way involving the characters. I enjoyed seeing the work that goes into creating the characters (and my arm would hurt after a minute, I don’t know how they do it!)

The conversation reminds me of the feelings I had when seeing the original “The Muppet Movie”, which I first watched when it debuted in theaters in 1979. I can’t wait for the new show, “The Muppets Mayhem”!
