Hi everyone!

“Entertaining with Disney” will make a great gift for those who like to entertain. Each section includes a new theme – for example, the Cinderella “‘Stroke of Midnight’ New Year’s Eve Party” offers a menu including Royal Roast Beef Crostini, Sparkling Gelatin Squares and Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Blue Velvet Cupcakes. Then it shows how to create a pumpkin carriage punch bowl, a glass slipper centerpiece and a bluebird backdrop. And royal invitations? That is covered too. The book doesn’t leave you hanging after that, it tells what to do between two weeks before to the day of, with steps along the way (for example, cupcakes are baked one day before). I also didn’t mention yet, the photos in the book are beautifully shot. It’s nice to just read through.

There is a party plan for The Lion King “‘Welcome to the Pride’ Baby Shower”. And just as with the Cinderella party, there are menu items including Rafiki’s Melon Salad, “Slimy, yet Satisfying Dirt Cups” and Hakuna Matata Punch. And The Little Mermaid Bridal Shower Brunch has some wonderful recipes and decor associated with it.

There are 11 different chapters with what the author calls blueprints for those parties, with “For the Menu”, “For the Space” and “For Fun” listed for each party. The parties are templates which can be changed as needed. For example – I am not usually that motivated anymore to do crafts, but I do love to cook. So I look forward to trying out the recipes in the book, and maybe putting them together sometime for a dinner or party. I was planning to try a couple of the recipes before reviewing the book, but everyone was busy with potential hurricane preparation so I’ve not purchased ingredients yet. But I will soon and will add that to my review.

We received one book for review purposes, thank you to Insight Editions!
