11/15 Pollo Campero Review, Walt Disney World’s Downtown Disney

Hi everyone!

We stopped by Pollo Campero yesterday after attending Fantasy of Flight's Roar and Soar event.  We didn't get there early enough to get daytime building photos, but we've been photographing the restaurant since McDonald's closed (the last time was just over a week before this article, and it was clearly almost done).

I just put up nearly 500 photos from the Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party 2010 for you to enjoy as well!

What I hadn't realized when Pollo Campero was being built is that it's three different restaurants inside one.  I thought "Fresh-A-Peel" was a slogan, but it's a different restaurant concept that is inside – along with Pollo Campero and babycakes bakery from New York City. Babycakes is a vegan bakery, gluten-free – it doesn't use eggs or any dairy product.  I'm really not familiar with vegan, but the two items we tried were good, though definitely much less sweet than I'm used to.

When you walk into the restaurant, babycakes is on the right hand side. It is it's own area – if you just want baked goods,  they will ring the purchases up there, or you can buy items from the other counters, pick up a baked goods treat and have everything paid for together. There is currently no annual pass discount in the restaurant.

There are snacks and drinks available around the restaurant – including Gold Peak Tea, almonds, seasonal fruit and caramel flan:
