Resort Specific Merchandise Arrives at Walt Disney World Moderate Resorts

Hi everyone!

For the first time in years, resort specific merchandise (not including pins & pressed pennies) has been added to the Walt Disney World Moderate resorts. Currently, Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside has the most, but I expect each resort will be more equal eventually. Deluxe and DVC resorts, along with Disney’s Fort Wilderness Campground have carried merchandise for years – some more than others, but I don’t remember the last time that the Moderates did. Disney’s Art of Animation has been the only Walt Disney World Value resort to carry resort merchandise recently, I’m not sure if that will change as well.

Just a few days ago, I had been at Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter to work on a photo walk – but I didn’t notice anything new when I walked through the shop. Now there are several items for sale at Jackson Square.

These small toothpick holders (or shot glasses) cost $9.95 each.

I don’t remember the resorts having postcards recently – but none of the ones I saw were as interesting as I’d hope.

Several of the resorts have ornaments. This one at Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter costs $14.95 (as all do).

This Port Orleans French Quarter Resort mug is also $14.95.

I didn’t take photos of all the artwork, I don’t remember if this was here previously. The artwork costs $25.00 and is by Larry Dotson.

I walked over to Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside Resort.

Fulton’s General Store is one of my favorite resort stores, in part because of the character displays inside.

An ornament, mug, hat and throw currently make this the most stocked moderate resort for specific merchandise.

Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside Resort mug.

Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside Resort throw. This costs $79.95, the same as the one at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Campground (which we did buy yesterday).

All three resort ball caps that we’ve seen are $19.95 and have a similar look to them – a blue ballcap with embroidery. This is a Port Orleans Riverside Resort ball cap.

This is the ornament for Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside Resort, which has the same logo as the throw and mug.

This is the only other resort that I looked for a postcard at. I expect all of them have one.

Over at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, there was a ball cap and ornament.

Blue hat, yellow and blue lettering.

Orange ornament.

And at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, Panchito’s had a ball cap.

Blue hat, yellow and red lettering.

For those looking for a less expensive souvenir, the pressed penny machines often have something fun.

While I don’t see a lot here that I plan to add to my collection, I do appreciate that Walt Disney World is making some effort with Moderate resort specific merchandise again. I’d really like to see a wider variety of items like Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and Disney’s Animal Kingdom have – those are probably my overall favorite resorts for merchandise, with items that can include sweatshirts, t-shirts, night shirts and more. Disney’s Art of Animation Resort has had a nice line of items, and we have purchased several items from Disney’s Fort Wilderness Campground over the past few years.

What do you think of this new merchandise at Walt Disney World? I would personally like to see resort specific refillable mugs come back as well – but I don’t expect that!
