Breakfast with Charlie Brown & Friends Review During Christmas at Gaylord Palms Resort

Hi everyone!

I wrote up an article about many of the Christmas activities at Gaylord Palms Resort this season (including ICE!), and one of my favorite aspects of Christmas at Gaylord Palms is Breakfast with Charlie Brown & Friends. Up until 2015, the character breakfast at Villa de Flora was themed to Shrek for a number of years. But with last year’s ICE! display being themed to Charlie Brown, the breakfast changed as well. While this year the ICE! theme is Christmas Around the World, breakfast has continued as a Charlie Brown character meal and Linus was added this year. This breakfast is not every day, it runs through January 7th, 2018 on the following dates: from 8am – 10:30am 11/21-11/22; 11/24-11/26; 12/1-12/3; 12/8-12/10; 12/15-1/7. The price is $34 for adults (13+) and $23 for children (ages 4-12).

The Villa de Flora character breakfast experience during Christmas at Gaylord Palms is one of my favorite character meals in the Orlando area. Full disclosure – we were invited as part of a one-night stay, but occasionally we pay for a second breakfast during the season. For me, it isn’t just about the characters but about the excellent food choices and then being able to enjoy the resort decorations and atmosphere.

We talk about Christmas at Gaylord Palms including Breakfast with Charlie Brown and Friends in our Mousesteps Weekly #248 this week. I queued up the show to start at that segment below.

Villa de Flora is a beautiful restaurant and looks even prettier during the holidays. It is “open air” though inside, as everything in the atrium is. So rain or shine, you can enjoy sort of an indoor-outdoor experience at the same time.

There was a sign outside Villa de Flora about the breakfast.

Snoopy is back this year, and he greets guests again in a separate room and poses for photos.

The breakfast check-in desk is based on Lucy’s booth.

The buffet is really nicely laid out and rarely seems too busy.

The first area is muffins, croissants, etc.

There are three different Charlie Brown themed waffles. One is Snoopy, another is his doghouse and the third is Charlie Brown. I will show more food later in the article. Along with these waffles, there is French toast, pancakes and more in that location.

Lucy is one of three characters that meet at the table.

Linus posed for a photo with the well-known tree.

This isn’t a usual Charlie Brown photo location, but it ended up one for a little while.

Here is a look at some of the food offerings.

The bacon is really good here, and plentiful.

The nice thing about the food at Villa de Flora is that there are a lot of healthy options and then regular breakfast items like bacon, eggs, etc.

Linus walked by.

There are a number of different breads.

There were two kinds of bagels.

Whole fruit consisted of oranges, red apples and green apples. There are also yogurts and other fruits.

My plate included fruit, potatoes and eggs.

Omelets are also cooked to order here, this is the omelet with everything on it.

There are cereals.

Salmon and other meats.

Fruit here includes grapes and pineapple.

Dried fruits and house made granola are another highlight – the dried papaya was very good, and there are banana chips, dried pineapple and raisins.

The potatoes are one of my favorite items.

Charlie Brown came back around and I still had one of his waffles left.

This is such a fun breakfast if you have a chance to head over to Gaylord Palms during the dates available! And there is a lot to see in the atrium – holiday decorations, alligators, other exhibits, and then there is the longtime ICE! walk-through (additional charge) where artisans have carved two million pounds of ice into a Christmas Around the World exhibit in 9 degrees – and so much more. Read here for all that is available. Oh – and bring your parking ticket into Villa de Flora, the restaurants validate at $50.00.
