10/26 Disney Merchandise Update – Winter Hats, Facebook Reference Shirts, Sweatshirts, Beer Steins
Hi everyone!
We've been having a lot of fun finding new merchandise in the Walt Disney World shops!
Some of the most popular shirts have been made into sweatshirts! Here are the new Turkey Leg, "Original Angry Bird", and "I'm Grumpy Because You're Dopey" sweatshirts:
And if you haven't had your fill of the "Original Angry Bird", a women's shirt is now for sale:
There is also a new Dole Whip women's shirt, but I haven't seen that one yet.
A retro-style Darkwing Duck shirt:
Disney has been using a lot of Facebook references in t-shirts lately, from the Grumpy "Don't Make Me Unfriend You" shirt to newer merchandise. Apparently Minnie is also prepared to unfriend! The Beauty and the Beast "Relationship Status: Complicated" shirt has been out for a couple of weeks or so – the Tinker Bell "Relationship Status Single" shirt I found last week. I expect them all to be really popular!
The Dale winter hat is back – it sold out VERY quickly last year. It is a thinner material than the Muppet winter hats (those are my favorite), but it doesn't usually get that cold here anyway. I hope Disney ordered plenty this year!
Mickey winter hat:
Now these are totally new – I've never seen them before! The original Mickey Mouse Club logo has been really popular on merchandise over the past year or so. These are winter hats with the original logo. There is a men's winter hat, and a women's hat (the latter with bow, just like the Mickey Mouse Club hats in the shops). Both have dangling Mickey hands. For some reason, the dangling hands are much longer on the men's version – really long! I guess that is to tie it as a scarf, but the women's aren't long enough (I don't think) for that. So the hands just rest…on the chest. I think it'd be nice to have longer hands for a scarf too!
We took a look around the World Showcase shops the other day, but didn't find a lot new that I hadn't seen before. Germany is one of my favorite pavilions for merchandise, and we found a really nice stein that has the same design as one of the newer shirts. The stein includes Mickey, Donald, Goofy, and Chip and Dale (Chip and Dale are much harder to see). I love that this is a product of Germany, an official stein that has Disney characters on it.
It looked like there were now 3 Disney inspired beer steins in Germany now. One is an Epcot stein we'd seen before:
And I think the other has been around for a while too, with the Epcot Germany pavilion on the stein and certificate:
What is your favorite item? I can't decide. I think if I bought a Mickey hat, it'd be the men's – so I can have a scarf too. And even though I don't drink beer, I like the beer stein with the characters. Our last merchandise update included a Chip & Dale "Sweet Cheeks" pair of men's briefs that I thought were fun!
