Book Review: “Olaf’s Frozen Adventure” Read-Along Storybook And CD

We received Olaf’s Frozen Adventure Read-Along Storybook and CD to review. This is the third storybook with CD I have reviewed in the past couple of weeks, the others were the Disney-Pixar Coco Read-Along Storybook and CD and Mickey’s Christmas Carol Read-Along Storybook and CD. Each book with CD features the original voices and story from the films. Olaf’s Frozen Adventure is a 21 minute featurette that will precede Disney-Pixar’s Coco when it releases on November 22nd, 2017.
Olaf’s Frozen Adventure Read-Along Storybook and CD (A Disney Storybook and CD)
– as other similar storybook book and CD’s – is an inexpensive way to enjoy a story, and kids may end up listening to it over and over again. Unlike the Disney-Pixar Coco Read-Along Storybook and CD, it didn’t matter to me if I spoiled the ending for myself. If you do care about that, then wait until after seeing the short in the theater before reading and listening to the book. I like these type of books because the original voices lend an authenticity to the story and kids can learn to read or improve reading by following along. This is about a 15 minute story on CD.

I personally found this a solid offering but a little weaker than the other titles, the narration is a little bland for me. However, it is clear and concise, which will help with the reading part. The story itself sees Olaf on a search for holiday traditions as Arendelle celebrates its first holiiday season. Back for the fun from the film are Josh Gad (Olaf), Kristen Bell (Anna), Idina Menzel (Elsa), Jonathan Groff (Kristoff) and Chris Williams (Oaken). Yes, even Wandering Oaken’s is featured as the family sits in the sauna. Of course Sven is here as well, with the story running through the popular characters from Frozen.
For kids who love “Frozen”, Olaf’s Frozen Adventure Read-Along Storybook and CD should be a hit, at a very reasonable price point for the small softcover book with CD. I also highly recommend Coco Read-Along Storybook and CD
and Mickey’s Christmas Carol Read-Along Storybook and CD
– there are so many different storybooks and CD’s from Disney, they are really well done and worth the small investment in reading, also including Cars 3 Read-Along Storybook and CD
and Moana Read-Along Storybook & CD. While one book with CD is more of a stocking stuffer size, buying a few of them would make a nice stand-alone gift.
