New “Magic Happens” Parade Debuts at Disneyland with Nine Floats and Characters Including Miguel and Merlin (w/Full Video)

Hi everyone!

The new “Magic Happens” parade debuted yesterday at Disneyland! It features nine newly-designed floats and more than two dozen Disney and Pixar characters. We had our California reporter in the park yesterday and he took the full video we have below, as well as a few photos. The location he chose for the parade is one of my favorites when parades begin from here, as it is on a curve with great views of the procession. And yesterday, there weren’t guests on the other side of the street – so performers including characters played more toward where he was. Miguel from Coco made his debut in a Disney park during the parade!

I am not using any of Disney’s professional photos because I expect to have my own DSLR pictures next week for a longer article.  First, here is our video and then a few photos – it is a very different parade than “Soundsational”.

Miguel has his guitar and there are more than 30,000 individual marigolds decorating the bridge on the Coco float. The Coco float is 11 feet wide, 19 feet tall and almost 36 feet long.
Dante appears behind the float.
Arthur makes his official Disneyland Resort debut in “Magic Happens”, and we don’t see Merlin too often in the parks.
Sven is on the Frozen 2 float along with Anna and Elsa.
The Blue Fairy has a very blue costume, different than in her meet and greet last year.
Disney says that Princess Aurora’s gown shimmers between hues of pink and blue.

And Disney says of this Moana section, The percussion instruments played on the Kakamora unit that follows the “Moana” float are inspired by traditional Polynesian drums.
We expect to see “Magic Happens” ourselves next week and will share much more in photos and video then!
