Chip and Dale Greet Guests from Distanced Tom Sawyer Raft at Magic Kingdom (Photos, Video)

Hi everyone!

Since the parks reopened at Walt Disney World, we’ve posted photos and video of the distanced characters that can be found around all four parks. We had not seen Chip and Dale at the Magic Kingdom since reopening until this past week. They are out on the Rivers of America every so often on a Tom Sawyer raft. It is a fun way to see them! In usual times they have met in Frontierland/Liberty Square in these costumes. Expect them to be dressed for Halloween from September 15th – October 31st, as will some other characters in the Magic Kingdom.

Here is our video of Chip and Dale in the Tom Sawyer raft. On this day, it was like 95 degrees!

Chip and Dale enter the raft near Aunt Polly’s.

They float from this area down toward Big Thunder Mountain, allowing guests along the way to enjoy seeing them.

Chip and Dale dance and wave to guests from the raft.

They wear their Frontierland costumes with their names on the back.

Big Thunder Mountain can be seen in the background.

And they head back with the Haunted Mansion in view. There are no times posted publicly for any of these types of encounters.

While in Frontierland, we also saw Big Al and Liver Lips out above the Country Bear Jamboree. The Country Bears are always fun up here.

Liver Lips waves.

And one more pose.

The Country Bears greet ended within a minute or two, and then the Fantasyland Friends cavalcade passed by. The last time we saw it, Mary Poppins was back here with Aladdin (and Tigger on foot). Tigger was with Aladdin this time, and I just thought it was fun how much they were interacting with each other.

I also just realized I haven’t posted the Fantasyland Friends cavalcade in an article yet, I will this week.

There will be a Halloween themed cavalcade with Mickey, Minnie Pluto and friends also coming on September 15th – October 31st! We plan to be at the Magic Kingdom on September 15th for the first day of the Halloween additions for this year (Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party was canceled for 2020).

Each park does offer distanced character interactions including cavalcades, motorcades and characters in locations like the Country Bears in Frontierland. The Magic Kingdom also currently offers the very popular Royal Princess Processional and Piglet, Tigger and Eeyore on the Main Street Trolley.
