Disney Park and Resort Photo Updates

Disney’s Grand Floridian Walkway Construction Update from October 20th, 2020

Hi everyone!

The last time I posted about the Grand Floridian walkway to the Magic Kingdom was about a month ago, and I really thought it was about to open. It is still being worked on though and I am hoping it will open soon. We were on the monorail yesterday and I took some photos of the progress.

This bridge is near Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort.

We were heading to the Magic Kingdom in the late afternoon after the rain.

The bridge was swung open and the gates closed.

Disney’s Contemporary Resort can be seen in the distance.

The bridge open, from another angle.

The walkway lights were on. The lighting fixtures here are different than the ones closer to Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort. I photographed a few photos of those lights being installed a couple of weeks ago but didn’t post them anywhere yet.

I really look forward to walking from the TTC to the Magic Kingdom.

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort can be seen in the background.

There is still work being done here.

Hopefully this area of walkway can be finished pretty quickly. I thought the walkway would be open for the reopening of Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort last month. Soon the monorail platform will be closed (temporarily but for many months) at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and having the walkway would be very useful.

This morning I took a walk (we are staying onsite for a couple of days), here is a view of the bridge swung open from Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort.

There was a lot of work going on early.

The walkway will be able to link the Ticket and Transportation Center to the Magic Kingdom on foot and then even to Disney’s Contemporary Resort. If I can get some prettier photos when we go to the Magic Kingdom tomorrow I will post then (yesterday was relatively dark due to the weather).
