Disney Park and Resort Photo Updates

EPCOT Construction Update Including CommuniCore Hall & Journey of Water – March 30, 2023 (Photos, Video)

Note – April 4th – we have a new update.

Hi everyone!

We took the monorail yesterday around EPCOT for a quick look at construction, including Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana (which now has signs placed around it). (We also posted construction photos of the DVC tower at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort from the same day).

Here is a look at the EPCOT construction! First, our video.

I’ve read online that this area of the parking lot may end up being a rideshare location, but I’ve not seen anything official.

The area next to Guest Relations is still undergoing a lot of work. We last were on the monorail through EPCOT nearly a month ago before our Disneyland Paris trip, and not much seems to have happened here except there is a lot of dirt.

Remember that the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival is in full swing! The event runs through July 5th and there are great views of some of the flowers and topiaries from the monorail.

CommuniCore Hall is being constructed behind the blooms here. It looks like a new flower planting recently happened as well (winter flowers would have changed to spring flowers).

A lot of construction work has happened on CommuniCore Hall and CommuniCore Plaza since our last visit.

Here is a look at concept art for CommuniCore Hall, which will offer a place to meet Mickey and Minnie. World Celebration will anchor the park’s festivals. In addition, Dreamers Point will also be in World Celebration, with the “Walt the Dreamer” statue.

Here are more photos of the World Celebration area.

There were a lot of workers all over the center of EPCOT when we went through.

Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana looks so close to complete. It is also scheduled to open this fall.

Disney says of Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana: This fun interactive outdoor trail offers a chance to play and interact with water as it travels from the sky to the oceans and back again. Along the way, guests learn about the importance of water and discover its playful personality – just as Moana did on her heroic voyage.

Signage has been placed here. I hadn’t noticed until I looked at my photos today.

Here is one sign, talking about “The Water Cycle”. I will see if I can take some closer shots on Monday of the various signs.

I can’t wait for this area to be finished, it has been in the works for years now.

I expect to post more photos on Tuesday!
