Located at the heart of the resort between the Disney parks and the hotels, Disney Village is embarking on its biggest transformation yet, aimed at enhancing the whole experience of the dining, shopping and entertainment district. As the next step in this ambitious project, from early 2024 onwards and for a duration of two years, all the shops and facades from Disney Store to Disney Fashion Jr will be progressively modified. These large-scale renovations will follow the opening of Rosalie, a new French-inspired brasserie, scheduled for opening at the end of the year.

First announced in 2022, work to transform the experience and atmosphere of the Disney Village is about to take a significant leap forward. Rosalie, a new restaurant inspired by traditional Parisian brasseries, is due to open at the end of the year near Lake Disney, and the entire adjoining block of buildings, spanning almost 200 metres, will be completely transformed and include refreshed shopping experiences.

A fresh shopping experience

Construction work – that is scheduled to take approximately two years to complete – will be carried out in two phases to minimise the impact on guest experience at Disney Village. The first phase, from early 2024 to the following autumn, will include the transformation of Disney Fashion, Disney Fashion Jr, and The Disney Gallery. These shops, which will benefit from large, transparent windows to make them more visible from the main promenade, will be completely remodelled inside. Once completed, the shops will feature new shopping concepts such as Fashion & Lifestyle, Home Décor, Disney Art & Collectibles, and the major Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars franchises. The shops will include new layouts, fittings and decoration. The work also includes brand new facades to give Disney Village a new, more contemporary and inviting visual identity, with natural tones mixing wood, brick and metal, creating a dynamic and unified impression. Large awnings will also protect guests from inclement weather.

An inviting stroll sprinkled with Disney magic

Finally, in the main outdoor area, extensive work on the grounds, surrounding landscape and lighting will be carried out to prolong the celebration of treasured Disney stories and experiences that guests are able to enjoy throughout the Parks and hotels at the resort. Original graphics created exclusively for Disney Village, including unique contemporary visuals paying tribute to Disney characters and imaginary worlds, will ornate the main strip and the facades, continually surprising and enchanting visitors as only Disney can do.

“We are extremely pleased to be starting works on the north block of Disney Village soon, which will begin its extensive transformation over the next few months. In addition to a more harmonious stroll with touches of Disney magic thanks to brand new facades, a completely reinvented atmosphere and interiors, this project will also improve life behind the scenes and the comfort of our Cast Members and Disney Village Partner employees. We’re experiencing ambitious and exciting times, and I can’t wait to see the new Disney Village come to life for all our guests to enjoy,” said Bruno Chastain, Disney Village Director.

And this is just the beginning. There are still a number of plans to be announced for the transformation of the Disney Village. Stay tuned for the latest developments concerning this ambitious project!
