Disney Park and Resort Photo Updates

EPCOT Construction Update from August 1st, 2023 Including CommuniCore Hall, Plaza

Hi everyone!

We took the monorail a couple of times yesterday for photos of construction at EPCOT. A lot of work has been going on lately, more trees planted (making certain angles harder to photograph) and Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana is having more work done on it after the first groups of Cast Members did play testing.

Here are photos from yesterday!

The new rideshare location is getting closer to completion, with a sidewalk around the driveway.

CommuniCore Hall and CommuniCore Plaza are coming into view.

CommuniCore Hall will be a “flexible exhibition and gallery space, offering a wide variety of experiences that highlight art, live music, food – complete with a demonstration kitchen – and more.” Also here will be a Mickey & Friends meet and greet location.

CommuniCore Plaza “will have the flexibility to host intimate musical performances that extend out into the nearby gardens, as well as large-scale concerts”.

The central planter is based on the five-ring EPCOT logo. That and Dreamer’s Point (which will have the Walt the Dreamer statue) are getting harder to see now with the trees that have been planted very recently. Just a week or so ago I was able to photograph elements that can’t really be seen anymore.

Also, there is more construction equipment currently around the site. Here is a look at the planter and then the Dreamer’s Point area in the back.

Here is a look at concept art for the area that features the planter.

We are continuing past CommuniCore Hall and CommuniCore Plaza.

Here is a look at concept art of CommuniCore Plaza. I would expect this stage to be used for concerts like Joyful! during the holidays.

Here are more photos as we ride past the construction.

It started raining during our first ride, and I only used a few of those photos.

Cast Members have been play testing Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana but it isn’t happening at the moment. There is work going on along the walkways.

And here are some photos from the ground after we made a quick stop inside EPCOT yesterday.

Everything is supposed to be finished in 2023, but there is no date announced for completion.

I will have another EPCOT construction update in the next week or two!
