Book Review: My First Disney Classics: “A Christmas Carol”, Illustrated by Jerrod Maruyama

Hi everyone!

I received My First Disney Classics: A Christmas Carol board book to review. The book is written by Nancy Parent and illustrated beautiful (as always) by Jerrod Maruyama.

My First Disney Classics: A Christmas Carol tells the story of “A Christmas Carol” – similar to “Mickey’s Christmas Carol” – in a small board book for babies and young children. Mickey is Bob Cratchit, Scrooge McDuck is Ebeneezer Scrooge, and Goofy is Jacob Marley. Other Disney characters can be seen in the book, even Mr. Toad and Chip & Dale.

There are prompts on the bottom of the right hand pages. For example, it will say “Can you count the books on Scrooge’s table?” or “What foods do you see on the table?”

My First Disney Classics: A Christmas Carol is 24 pages and makes a wonderful stocking stuffer this holiday season. It not only tells the story of the Charles Dickens classic, but encourages learning with the prompts on every other page. I am a fan of the artwork of Jerrod Maruyama as well.
