Our Sky Princess Stateroom E318 Tour (Deluxe Balcony with Obstructed View) with Photos and Video – Princess Cruises

Hi everyone!

We were invited on the Sky Princess by Princess Cruises and have a stateroom E318 tour in photos and video. Emerald 318 is a Deluxe Balcony stateroom with obstructed view on deck 8. This was our first time sailing with Princess Cruises and the cruise was an Eastern Caribbean 7-night voyage.

First, here is our video and then photos.

This is a look at the hallway outside the stateroom.

One of the benefits of the Medallion is having the stateroom door open as you arrive (usually). We did have a couple of days where that didn’t work and we had to touch the Medallion to the touch point. After it started working again, it was extra sensitive and the door unlocked before we made it to the room.

This was our first look into the room. To the left is the closet and restroom. Ahead is the bedroom.

The Deluxe Stateroom with Balcony is about 233 square feet with a 41 square foot balcony.

There are two small nightstands flanking the bed and a two-person sofa in the corner. We both found the bed very comfortable.

Here is a look from the other way (Princess Cruises gave us water and Champagne for the room to start the journey).

There is a desk for working. I would like to see more outlets in the room, but we managed with what was here. Next to the desk is a small refrigerator.

The refrigerator came in very handy for us to store waters, sodas and other items.

Above it is a drawer with the hair dryer.

I do like that Princess still offers a printed handout each day. That said, I’d have liked even more information in the app as well.

Here is a look at the sofa.

There is a television on the wall. I ended up watching quite a few episodes of “The Love Boat”, which is one of the series on the television. I watched it first run as a kid and teen, and this was the first time I had ever rewatched episodes.

Our balcony was obstructed by a lifeboat.

We could still see over it to enjoy the view, but not as much while seated. We went to other decks to do that and we even saw a whale from deck 16 while in Grand Turk. If I knew that was possible, I would have spent a lot of the day whale watching from there.

When we first entered the stateroom, I was disappointed in what looked like a lack of storage. It turns out, there is plenty. A cabinet near the bathroom holds the safe plus shelves. And we were given plenty of hangers – about 25, which was enough for most of our clothes. Plus there are some small drawers in the main room, so I was able to unpack most of my luggage.

This is what our closet and shelves looked like when full.

There were bathrobes in the closet with the Princess Cruises logo.

Below the bathrobes were slippers.

The bathroom is pretty small and not as well laid out as I’d expect. It took me a while to figure out where the toilet paper was, and it turns out it is at the right hand side of this photo. It is so far away from the toilet.

The shower has no tub and just a curtain, so that meant cleaning up water on the floor at times. The shower pressure and hot water availability were good.

There is hand soap and lotion that says Lotus Spa. Inside the shower there is shower gel and a shampoo/conditioner combo. While I brought shampoo and conditioner, I ended up using their shampoo with my conditioner.

Overall, we found our Deluxe Balcony E318 stateroom comfortable and well located. I did find the lights in the room a bit confusing. There is a light that goes on when approaching the bathroom at night, but sometimes I was already in the bathroom when it went on and sometimes it didn’t light at all. I would love to see something like a blue light around the bed that softly illuminates the floor (like in a France hotel we often stay at).

We will have much more to share from our cruise on the Sky Princess in the coming days and weeks.

Princess Cruises invited us out to experience the Sky Princess. All views are ours.
