“Inside Out 2” Concept Art & Maquettes Now at Disney’s Hollywood Studios (Photos, Video)

Hi everyone!

An “Inside Out 2” concept art and maquette display is now at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, along with a “sneak peek” preview of the film in Walt Disney Presents. Disney and Pixar’s “Inside Out 2” releases on June 14th, 2024 and we already have our tickets!

It is hard to believe it has been 9 years since we shared the first “Inside Out” concept art display. Back then, it was inside the former Magic of Disney Animation building. At that time, the movie displays were a lot more extensive – but the “Inside Out 2” display is quite nice. And you can find more concept art in the book “The Art of Inside Out 2“.

Here are video and photos from yesterday.

The “Inside Out” sneak peek is promoted at the front of the park near Crossroads of the World.

The poster artwork features returning emotions including Joy, Sadness and Fear, as well as new emotions including Anxiety and Embarrassment.

The same poster artwork greets guests to Walt Disney Presents.

Joy and Anxiety are on banners.

The poster with the various characters is outside.

The “Inside Out” concept art and maquette display is outside of The Walt Disney Theater. It did get very busy, very quickly yesterday afternoon in between shows.

There are three maquettes in the display and quite a bit of concept art.

An “Inside Out 2” sign gives a synopsis of the film.

For Riley (Kensington Tallman), starting high school comes with new challenges and complicated emotions! When Anxiety (Maya Hawke) takes control of the Headquarters, Joy (Amy Poehler) and the other emotions find themselves on an adventure to protect Riley’s Sense of Self. In high school, Riley’s emotions guide her as she pursues new goals, like joining the varsity hockey team and making friends with popular Val Ortiz (Lilimar).

The three maquettes are Anxiety, Embarrassment and Ennui. Envy is not here as a maquette. Back in 2015, there were maquettes of all five original characters.

I show the maquettes in detail in our video (including at the end of the video).

I think Anxiety will be my new favorite character!

Embarrassment clasps his hands together and bites his lip.

Here is a look from a few angles.

And Ennui is the third maquette.

The artwork on this side explores mostly these new characters.

There is artwork of Riley in her many moods.

This concept art features Embarrassment.

Ennui is next.

Envy has the stars in her eyes.

Disgust joins Joy, Sadness, Fear, and Anger.

Riley’s Islands of Personality, including Hockey Island are shown.

On another side of the display, Riley can be seen playing hockey.

She is shown with friends as well. This side has mostly to do with hockey.

Another side features more of the original five “Inside Out” characters, and also on the last side as we move around the cabinet.

This sign says,

“In the world of ‘Inside Out’ and ‘Inside Out 2’, the animators represent each emotion with a signature color. Only Joy (Amy Poehler) features multiple colors, including a pop of blue in her hair that alludes to the hint of Sadness that has been with her all along”.

Here are the concept art pieces on this side. The first one features Joy, Anger, Disgust, Fear and Sadness (and it is the cover of “The Art of Inside Out 2“).

Are you looking forward to “Inside Out 2”? We are just a few weeks away until it arrives in theaters! We will have a review of the film on June 13th.
