“All that Glitters: The Crown Jewels of the Walt Disney Archives” Exhibit Includes Marvel, Disney Film Pieces at the Bowers Museum (Photos)

“All that Glitters: The Crown Jewels of the Walt Disney Archives” debuted today at the Bowers Museum in Santa Ana, California. The exhibit will run through June 19th, 2022 and is a completely new exhibition that allows guests to view jewelry and accessories from movies and shows including “Loki” and “Titanic”. Here are photos our reporter took from a preview with a sampling of the collection!

The Bowers Museum says of the exhibit,

“All That Glitters’ three main sections each explore different facets of how jewelry is used to tell stories: “Jewelry Informs Character” explains what wearable accessories tell viewers about characters; the “Feature Vault” offers a jaw-dropping look at the most prized jewelry and accessories inside the Walt Disney Archives; and “Reflections on Reality” includes displays that tie earrings, cuff links, rings, tie pins, and more back to the Disney films and parks that they originated from.”

All That Glitters: The Crown Jewels of the Walt Disney Archives is curated by the Walt Disney Archives in conjunction with the Bowers Museum. Director of the Walt Disney Archives, Becky Cline talked about this second exhibit they have done with the Bowers Museum. “This is a very special exhibit for us. We have so many wonderful things in our collections, and some of them are very small and don’t get noticed as much in the films…”.

The exhibition pieces can be found in cases around the room.

The pieces are varied, and include this brooch set worn by Disney princesses for Disneyland’s 50th anniversary celebration.

This Eye of Agamotto necklace was work by Benedict Cumberbatch (Dr. Stephen Strange) in Avengers: Infinity War.

This necklace was worn by Michael B. Jordan (Erik Killmonger) in Black Panther.

This crown was worn by Tom Hiddleston (Loki) in Loki.

These rings were worn by Ben Kingsley (The Mandarin/Trevor Slattery) in Iron Man 3.

These rings were worn by Elizabeth Olsen (Wanda Maximoff/Scarlett Witch) in Avengers: Infinity War.

The Medal of Yavin was worn by Joonas Suotamo (Chewbacca) in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

This necklace was worn by Emma Thompson (Baroness von Hellman) in Cruella.

The “Heart of the Ocean” necklace was worn by Kate Winslet (Rose) from James Cameron’s Titanic.

This crown was worn by Jemaine Clement (Prison King) in Muppets Most Wanted.

This crown was worn by Jimmy O’Dea in Darby O’Gill and the Little People.

This crown was worn by Rami Malek (Freddie Mercury) in Bohemian Rhapsody.

This Tiara was worn by Amy Adams (Giselle) in Enchanted.

Also from Enchanted, this crown worn by Queen Narissa (Susan Sarandon).

And these rings were worn by Helena Bonham Carter (Iracebeth) in Alice Through the Looking Glass.
