Magic Kingdom Toll Plaza 50th Anniversary Refurbishment Update from October 28th, 2020

The Magic Kingdom Toll Plaza makeover for the 50th anniversary has been progressing over the past few weeks. Today, the castle in the center of the sign now has the same iridescent look as the word WELCOME is receiving. Here is a look at photos from this morning.

About half of the Toll Plaza looks finished.

Workers were at the center of the sign this morning. In this photo, you can see the gold toll booths and also how the lighter blue that is visible on the right hand side of the sign will be a darker blue like on the left.

This shows the castle and a couple of letters.

The weather was perfect today to see the Magic Kingdom Toll Plaza, one of my previous days here was very foggy and it made for more difficult photos. The entrance signs along the roads are being transformed as well – I did not see any work on that project today but concept art was released a few days ago. All of the work, just like the Cinderella Castle painting is for the 50th anniversary of the Magic Kingdom/Walt Disney World in 2021.
