Cinderella Castle Transformation Progress from March 17th, 2021 Including Decor Pieces, Stage Construction & Painting

Hi everyone!

Cinderella Castle has been undergoing a makeover for “The World’s Most Magical Celebration”, the 50th anniversary celebration that kicks off October 1st, 2021. The transformation began last year with a new paint scheme and the turrets were being painted again yesterday, along with work on the stage and the addition of decor to the castle (there will be much more coming). Here is a look from yesterday!

We ended up in all four parks yesterday, we planned for two.

Main Street was not too busy when we arrived.

Here is our video and then photos.

Yellow flowers currently surround Walt and Mickey.

Here is a look at Cinderella Castle from the front.

This area of the moat is drained.

There were two pieces of 50th anniversary decor on each side of Cinderella Castle yesterday.

Here is a look at the first two.

“50” can be seen up close here.

This piece has more iridescent purple than blue.

Looking up at Cinderella Castle, there is one piece draped nearby with more blue.

This piece is mostly blue with gold.

I’m moving over to the other side of Cinderella Castle.

Cinderella Castle looked beautiful with the blue sky yesterday.

Part of the moat is drained here as well.

Here is a view looking up the path.

There is water on this side.

The two pieces of decor can be seen from this angle.

You can see the pathways were pretty clear around Cinderella Castle yesterday afternoon.

The stage is undergoing some work.

There are heating elements. I am not sure why, if this helps keep water from pooling as much on the stage when it rains (it can take a pretty long time to dry the stage).

From Cinderella Castle, the TRON construction can be seen.

This is the best view of the flag as I’ve seen so far in the Magic Kingdom.

There has also been some painting – I don’t know if the colors faded or if the color is a little different. Look to the left and then to the right.

There was a chalk Mickey on Main Street.

We do plan to head back to the Magic Kingdom on March 28th and Easter day, I’m not sure if we’ll be back before that but I will be posting more from the park after those visits!
